Two-way bicycle lane will connect the Sea garden and the Burgas salt works

A two-way bicycle lane is going to connect the Sea garden and the saltworks of Burgas. It will be 1,7 km long and its construction will begin in May. The Burgas saltworks for years are gathering hundreds of citizens and tourists with their healing pools.

The construction of the bicycle lane will allow the amateur cyclists to move quicker and more convenient to the relax place. The new bicycle lane will be 2 meters wide. There will be built transverse and longitudinal gradients, which will allow the easy drainage of the rain water. The beginning of the new bicycle lane is accorded with the end of the already existing bicycle lane in the Sea garden.

According to the project, it will be made a whole reconstruction of the ‘Kraibrejna’ str. in the area of the Sea garden to the ‘Black sea salt works’. The street will be made wider to the existing concrete wall. It's considered the cleaning of the sand to the whole length of the street from the side of the seashore line.

The construction of the bicycle lane in the urban area includes bicycle routes along the route of the Bus Rapid Transit line, bicycle routes outside the BRT line in the Central City area and nearby neighborhoods (Meden Rudnik, Slaveykov, Izgrev – as a north border) and routes outside the BRT line for the distant neighborhoods (Sarafovo, Banevo, Mineralni bani, Vetren, Kraimorie), which have a purpose to provide functional connections with the Central City area.

Under the project ‘Integrated, urban transport of Burgas’ is foreseen to be created bicycle lanes with a total length of 60 km.
